Start at your webgen home page looking under "My Surveys":
1. Go down your list of surveys to the one you want to delete end user data.
2. To the right of this survey name, click the "Reports" link.
- This will take you to the Reports home page for that Survey.
3. At the bottom of this page click on the link "Delete End-User Data".
- At this page, you will be given the choice of deleting all report data or deleting individual user report data.
Is webgen on the internet or hp intranet?
HP Webgen currently resides on the internet. You can select the @hp portal theme on the internet version.
Is there a limit on the number of questions I can have on a survey?
There is currently no limit on the number of questions you can have.
Can I put questions on separate pages?
The current version does not allow that. Questions must reside on the same web page.
Is it possible to have a "ratings" type question. For example, Rate the following 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
Yes, this is possible. Use the multiple choice question type to do this.
Can I copy responses from one question to another question?
This feature will be available in the future.
Do you have a users guide for webgen?
We are in the process of developing one.
How many characters are allowed in an open-ended question?
The open-ended field can accept up to 4000 characters.
Can I "prefill" the questions in a Survey?
Yes, by passing variable parameter name/value pairs through the survey URL:
1. You can only "prefill" single line textbox and textarea questions.
2. Use the names: q1,q2,q3... etc. Where the value in q1 would prefill question 1 (if it's a textbox or textarea), q2 would prefill question 2,...etc.
3. If you passed a varname/value to a non-textbox/textarea question (like a dropmenu) you would see no effect on the survey.
Here's an example of how you would prefill a survey using these variable parameter names in the survey URL:
Here's the URL before the variable parameters are added:
http://www.hpwebgen.com
/Questions.aspx?id=###&pass=###
Here's the survey URL with the variable parameters:
http://www.hpwebgen.com
/Questions.aspx?id=###&pass=###&q1=blue&q2=my.name@hp.com
Can I "prefill" the "Subject" and "CC" fields of an Email Confirmation?
Yes. The variable parameter name/value pairs "subject" and "cc" can be added to a survey URL. If your survey is configured to send confirmation emails, the subject of the confirmation email will take on the value of "subject" variable passed through the URL. The "cc-list" will take on the value of "cc" variable passed through the URL.
Here's an example:
http://www.hpwebgen.com
/Questions.aspx?id=###&pass=###&subject=Subject Test&cc=my.name@hp.com
Can I "prefill" the "Sub Title" (or Sub Heading) area of a Survey?
Yes. The variable parameter name/value pair "subtitle" can be added to a survey URL. The value of the "subtitle" parameter will be placed in the survey just below the survey title.
Here's an example using the Webgen Support link. Click this link to see how the "subtitle" is used:
http://www.hpwebgen.com
/Questions.aspx?id=220&pass=2805&subtitle=Sub Title Test
Can I add images to my Survey?
Yes. But, the image has to be hosted on a Web Server somewhere. You can host it on your own server or contact our
Webgen Support
link and we can help you host it on our server for a minimal fee.
In order to insert an image into your Survey you would use an HTML tag like this:
<img src="http://www.myserver.com/image.jpg">
